In Steve's opinion, it was never too cold to grill, and so he was out on the lanai with his giant puffy coat and a pair of flip flops, flipping steak. (He was also grilling vegetables, but it was the steak he was actually excited about.)

"Danno!" he called back into the house, keeping his voice loud enough to be heard through the glass door, "two minutes!"

"We're splitting the week between a place with actual beds and your weird need to sleep on the ground, but yes."

It was true love, Steve. True love.

Steve leaned in and gave him a soft, lingering kiss. "Love you, Danno."

"Love you too, babe," Danny murmured. He better enjoy the clingy moping after Christmas with the kids leaving the country.

"I like you better when you're not a cat," Steve added.

"Pretty sure I slept on your neck half the time I was one," Danny said with a snort. "So I get that."

And just aggressively purred there.

"I'll be getting cat hair out of the bed for a month," he teased.

"It's barely noticeable!" Said the guy who didn't clean as much as Steve.

Steve snorted. "Sure it is."

"I'll do the laundry, alright?" Did that help?

[grenadesandohana]

"You should do the laundry anyway," Steve told him.

[hatesparadise]

"I do the laundry!" He folded it, mostly. Because Steve was a psychopath who put loads in after his too early exercise routines.

"You should do the laundry correctly," Steve amended sweetly.

"I do it just fine!" Mixed colors and darks and lights. It was chaos.

"You also think you cook eggs well," Steve said.

"I like them a particular way!" Burned. He liked them burned a little.

"You burn them and have convinced yourself you like it," Steve corrected.

"That is how my mother makes eggs, Steven." Which did not actually make it better.

Steve made a little face. "Okay."

They were not good eggs, Daniel.

"I'm not makin' your eggs that way."

Which implied he knew a better way and just didn't do it.

Steve grinned. "Thanks. Now eat your non-burned steak."

Danny rolled his eyes and settled in with the steak and various grilled green things. Made with love.

It had been, not that Steve would ever admit to it. "You're welcome," he said around a mouthful of his own dinner.

"You're just happy to grill even in the winter," Danny replied, pressing a foot to Steve's under the table.

"Steak's just better from the grill," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"And made by you," he drawled.
