"How's the kitchen going?" he called in to Danny.

"He wouldn't be rooting around in the very back of the junk drawer," Steve said with the assurance of a man who had not left a young boy unsupervised.

"...you know, I always forget you have zero idea what a kid does to test you," Danny replied.

"Maybe they just don't like to test me," Steve said with a grin.

"Babe."

"Because I have learned from a pretty adequate detective, I am guessing you don't buy that," Steve teased.
