Okay, so the island wasn't all that bad! It was kind of weird that he was in an apartment with another dude instead of up at the huge castle thing, and even weirder that he didn't remember transferring (not like he'd had a choice on the first transfer to California, but at least his dad had mentioned something before stuffing him onto a plane to the mainland), but the ocean was right here, the girls were cute, and the food at the diner had been free all weekend!

He'd done some exploring of the apartment too (he had so many knives in his room. Like. A creepy weird amount.) and had discovered the very best thing: a huge action movie collection. He thought he was pretty up to date but there were entire sequels to Terminator Robots from the Future Will Killinate You Dead he hadn't even heard about!

So he ordered a pizza (okay, he ordered six. He was a growing boy), pulled all of the blankets out from his closet (and stuffed the guns those unearthed back into their spots. What the hell was this place), and made himself a huge blanket fort thing in the living room.

This was gonna be great.

"I can't believe you ordered pineapple pizza," Danny grumbled.

"I didn't realize I lived with a giant pizza thief," Steve said. "Take it off and quit whining."

"But it's pineapple," he whined. "I don't know how you do things in Hawaii, but that's not how it's supposed to be."

"Have you ever tried it?" Steve retorted. "It's good!"

"I don't need to try it to say it's bad," Danny replied definitively.

"So you're saying you're afraid of new experiences," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"I am not." He super was.

[grenadesandohana]

"Then try some pizza," Steve said. "Weirdo."

[hatesparadise]

Danny made the biggest face at being called out on this one. "Fine. But you have to eat the normal pizza if I have a slice of this abomination."

"Fine," Steve said, rolling his eyes. "Wanna watch a movie? This place has a million of them."

[hatesparadise]

"Sure. Which one?" Was it full of babes? Because they should probably have that or something to make this normal.

"You pick," Steve said, opening up the cabinet. "I think there's every action movie ever in here."

[hatesparadise]

"Daaaaamn," Danny muttered and instinctively glanced around for his ma before settling on the Robots from the Future Will Killinate You Dead movie that was askew, assuming that Steve had been looking at that one. "Here. When'd they even make a new sequel?"

"That's what I was wondering!" Steve exclaimed. "It looks really good, though."

Danny just had to grin at how much that perked him up. "Well, Let's... why is it a CD?"

Oh god, they were still VHS babies.

Steve frowned. "I don't know," he said, scooting closer. "Maybe it's the soundtrack?"

"Could go in a computer?" Yeah, that sounded about right.

[grenadesandohana]

"I haven't seen one around, have you?" Steve replied, looking for a giant 1995-era desktop. "And why would these be by the TV if they didn't go in something here?"

See? Intel bound.

Between the two of them, they'd figure it out!

There was a laptop in the room and neither of them knew what the hell it was. God help them. "Maybe it's connected? Like AV stuff," Danny muttered, just pushing buttons now to see what happened.

Well now the TV was on and the sound was on the wrong option, but they were making progress. "Maybe this expensive-looking black thing?"

If you break the X-Box, future Steve will cry, Steve.

Future Steve needed the newest console anyway.

"Looks like a Playstation." Not that they had one in his house, but friends had one. "Maybe it's actually a game."

Did someone just have to google when the Xbox 360 first premiered? Yes. Yes, they did.

Future Steve was saving it for Christmas, Daniel.

"That could be cool, too," Steve said. "Dibs on being the robot!"

Okay, that was fair.

Danny snorted and rolled his eyes, reaching for the controllers that looked pretty much the same as they once were. Because you can't really improve too much on those things. "Fine, I wanted meta for Sarah Connor anyway. She's badass."

Steve startled sliightly the machine made a grinding sound as it took in the disc.

"Hope I didn't kill it," he muttered.

"Maybe it's just old?" Look,he had an old as hell Super Nintendo, he didn't know.

Danny pressed buttons on the controller until things popped up on the screen, still sans sound. But still progress.
