MCA#0, Thursday late evening

For so many reasons, honestly whatever reason, Steve was unable to sleep, so he was back in front of the television with a glass of water, watching the British show about restoring antiques.

But the soothing British biceps accents weren't doing their usual magic.

Steve wasn't sure why, but he was going to stay sitting there just in case it started working.

"What he did back then." Not to Grace. That would have been too hard to mention at that moment. "That it can be hard to go against the people in charge when you're fresh on the job."

"That was probably really good for her to hear right then," Steve said.

Danny flexed his hand into a fist for a moment before relaxing it again to keep from doing something dumb like reaching out to grab onto Steve's arm.

This was ridiculous and dumb. Second guessing himself in regards to Steve wasn't how he functioned.

"I hope so."

"You okay?" Steve asked, frowning.

"Yeah," Danny said. "Yeah, I'm fine. Weird week."

Gonna get weirder, but at least that would be a good distraction!

"Very weird week," Steve agreed, moving a little more into Danny's space.

Which, hey, was just what Danny needed! He leaned back against him, shoulders relaxing as he did so. "This place, right?"

"Yeah," Steve agreed, definitely not doing a massage because wow, that had gone some places last time.

Yeah, it was the massage's fault.

"How about we get out of here for the weekend?" He meant to a normal place. Not to hear about murder penises from Diego.

"Not to therapy, right?" Steve checked warily.

"No, not to therapy," Danny replied dryly. "Maybe I can show you that burger place in New Jersey."

Oh no.

"Up by your family?" Steve asked.

[hatesparadise]

"That'd be the place, yeah."

[grenadesandohana]

"Would we stop by?" Steve asked.

[hatesparadise]

"You think my family wouldn't have am issue if I was in town and didn't visit?" This was the Williams Clan, after all.

"Okay, that's a good point," Steve admitted.

"My sisters would like to meet you anyway," Danny said. "Blame Mary for that."

No, it was all because they were pretty sure they were dating.

"It fills me with terror that they all text each other," Steve admitted.

"I know your sister has her friends out there in L.A., but with your Aunt and... Doris." He didn't think he needed to elaborate on that. "I thought some extra family, even if they're on the east coast, it couldn't hurt."

Steve's smile was decidedly soft when Danny framed it that way. "Thanks, Danno."

"She's your sister," Danny said like that explained it all, bumping his shoulder into Steve's.

Steve's smile widened. "Yeah, she is."

"They'll like you. Just be your normal, charming self."

But not too charming. Stella was single.

"You think I'm charming?" Steve asked.

"You know I do," Danny said, rolling his eyes.
